At the beginning of this month, I downloaded the Stylebook app. I first heard about it through my friend Kallie, who credits it for helping her streamline her wardrobe and stop impulse purchases. I really enjoy it because it is a one time purchase, not a subscription and it is NOT a social network. It’s just a tool to use to catalog and collage your clothes. The biggest hurdle to the app is uploading pictures of everything you own. I get around this by finding stock photos of more recent, non-vintage items online and by waiting until I wear the item to upload it (rather than spending a weekend cataloging everything I own, which would be fun project if I didn’t have my three year old).
I have a hard time taking selfies. The light is terrible this time of year where I live, and I find myself focusing more on my body than my clothes in photos. The collages help me get around my insecurities and focus on what I am actually wearing. I noticed trends (color!) right away, and I like being able to make a little note with each outfit if I have issues with fit or comfort.
I have always been a little bit embarrassed by my personal style hobby, but I resolve to dig in more this year and let this be something I have fun with.
Love this purple sweater!
Have also felt that same embarrassment about (my own perceived) frivolity of caring about personal style and made the same intention for this year :)
Want to know where all of these sweaters are from (collared! Color block!) and also definitely have almost the same outfit (purple sweater and tan cords)
